Probably a good benchmark for when you got into anime is, the first thing you saw that was NOT a television broadcast.

Never mind, that would exclude too much shit. By that standard, you could watch Toonami every single day and jack your dick to every single show and it wouldn't count as "being into anime."

You could go by "the first thing that you knew was anime," but that has its own problems too.

There's really no easy way to delineate this...

Also, the important thing to remember with :O is that it's used here. There are a lot of emoticons, and most of them are not used at FTU. The fact that :O is, indicates that it's an FTU thing to use it.

I guess Sailor Moon was the first anime I technically saw, but I wasn't really AWARE of anime as being a SPECIAL THING until I started getting into DBZ.

I'm not even sure how or why I got into DBZ. It was the most random shit ever.

I chalk it up to the fact that it was the first thing on CN right after I got home from school, and since that was like one of two channels I actually watched, it was probably inevitable I'd run into it.

Speaking of anime, I watched some for the first time in a long while last night: Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. I'm not really sure how I feel about that experience yet.

I think the first time I was aware of anime was Saturday Anime on Sci Fi, but I did see the original dub of Dragonball back before they gave up and decided DBZ was better. DBZ was rad, of course, but one of my friends back then got obsessed with DBZ and after they stopped showing it on TV, he watched the fansubs of the whole series and I pretty quickly got tired of hearing about DBZ. I actually kind of hated it just from hearing this guy talk about it all the time.

Then I saw DBZ on Toonami and resumed jerking my dick.
