Berserk eventually redeems itself even after the shittier stretches.

I can easily forgive the whole Vandimion/Let's find a boat! saga because it lead to Guts riding Zodd.

Guts riding Zodd is definitely in the top 5 Berserk moments.

I was talking about the English voices, since I can't remember the Japanese ones anymore (haven't watched it in Japanese since 2003).

The Japanese voices for Naruto are the worst!

The English voices for DBZ were pretty good, because the Japanese voices were the worst imaginable.

It's a relative thing.

Dubbed Hellsing Ultimate is probably a good idea.

It's intensely grating hearing some snaggletooth randomly speak an English phrase.

Watching the Naruto marathon reminds me why I stopped watching it in the first place. It's hard suspending my disbelief when two people are fighting, yet they spend about and hour or more talking and explaining things while the two fighters sort of walk around grunting, or repeating the same actions over and over. While fights are drawn out in DBZ, they aren't usually done so in front of a watching audience.

The voices in the dub are actually pretty good matches, except for Shino who doesn't fit at all. They just got some nasally kid! I guess the dubbing company can't accept that Shino has the voice a really manly adult male.

Most all exposition in manga is poorly done. That's another reason why Berserk is so good. There isn't much exposition---especially not during any battle---because after beginning in media res for a few volumes, it jumped back and showed us everything from the beginning. And for other characters, exposition is given in down times, not in the heat of the action.

That's a big reason why I don't really read it anymore. All that's left that I read is stuff that I've been reading for years and just want to see what happens: Naruto, Berserk, One Piece, and Gantz.

The only "new" manga that I've been reading is Baki. And it's mostly just crazy violence.

Also, exposition works better on paper than on TV. Pacing issues. Reading goes faster, so you don't spend a half-hour dealing with complaints about main and branch families.
