I saw this one South Korean movie about a Korean-American military lady who goes to Korea to investigate an INCIDENT in the DMZ between North and South for the UN. It was pretty good, even if it's not the type of movie I generally enjoy.

As far as Kurosawa movies, the best one I've seen is High and Low (also called Heaven and Hell). It's kind of similar to Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, but with more of a methodical, crime-buster approach in the second half of the movie. The kidnapper wears aviator sunglasses, and in the scenes he's in the sunglasses light up his face, proto-Sin City style.

Also, as Ace said, Tale of Two Sisters is a very good horror movie.
