I was 18. The weed charge got dismissed on court costs and it should have been expunged from my record at some point, but it might not have been because I got arrested for minor in possession of alcohol a few months later. And because of the weed charge I was ineligible for diversion classes and that shit is on there permanently. As far as how it happened, the cops were staking out my pot dealer's house all day, they saw me walk in and walk out, then followed my car for a while and pulled me over for no reason. They wanted me to do a sting (I didn't). With the alcohol charge I was walking down FRAT ROW with a coke bottle filled with Captain's and coke. A cop comes around a corner from OUT OF NOWHERE and immediately asks to see my beverage. I say no, so he tells me to turn around and handcuffs me.

So Brett, you're saying I should leave by December? How long does your passport have to be valid before you can get a visa?

How do I find out what my criminal record entails? From what I understand, I just got a citation, so my criminal record consists entirely of an underage drinking charge (plus fake ID, I guess) and a speeding ticket.

I think anything you need to go to a court arraignment for shows up on your criminal record. Everything else doesn't.
