30 Rock has been pretty good this year. Much better than the last few. And the Office isn't really that great anymore, but this most recent episode was good. Not season 2 good, but good.

Community and Parks and Rec are the only two great shows, but they are still young enough not to enter that shitty sitcom void of middle age where characters become watered down reflections of their former selves (The Office).

I don't think they should bring in a new person to replace him, because that person would have to be compared to Steve Correll and Micheal, and they would fail. So I think they should just promote someone to manager, and I think they have kind of setting Darrel up to take the position. Jim was already co-manager, so they can't use him, and Dwight would be ridiculous as a manager so the company wouldn't allow it, and it would probably led to even more Flanderization of his character. Besides them, no one else is qualified.

I like how 30 Rock flips around that trope of where loser guys end up with the hot girls in movies and TV. Obviously Tina Fey is attractive, but Liz Lemon is supposed to be really plain (and fashionably challenged) but she still gets with guys who look like Jon Hamm and Matt Damon, and I think Jason Sadakis is really good looking too.

30 Rock may have flipped a trope or two in its day but it is literally now a show about a crazy middle-aged woman who is desperate to find a husband, which is not a particularly daring or progressive premise.
