I grew up in a small town that only had one radio station: All Oldies All The Time. Since that's all I ever heard, in a weird way I actually believed that Elvis Presley and The Beatles were the hip new artists of my childhood.

Also, a kid in my grade 1 class brought a Roy Orbison tape to school, and he was really proud of it and talked to it as if it was Roy Orbison himself (his face was on the cover).
