I find the comparison between civil rights based on race and supposed new rights being granted for what amounts to deviant behavior to be really kind of ridiculous. There is no comparison. A black as a person does not by being black harm anyone. Gay rights is a collective delusion that's being attempted. And the idea of 'gay marriage' -- it's hard to find a ridiculous enough comparison. By the way, I'd really hate it if your piece wound up focusing on the old charge that I'm a homophobe.

I thought Ender's Game was pretty good, but probably not nearly as good as I would have thought it was if I had read it when I was about 14.

I remember it being only mediocre, and I read it only a few years ago.

I was too old when I read it, and he reminded me too much of a part of my life that I was finally happy to be over. I should read it again, now that I am so much further removed from my adolescence, and see if I still feel revulsion towards it like I had when I was 18 and read it for a class.

Orson Scott Card definitely reached the level of crazy where it has tainted his work.

And I don't think he was always this crazy, because I don't think he would have gotten along so well in science fiction circles by being so conservative.

And I think this is also reflected in the fact that he's essentially written more books in the Ender series that are trying to retcon Ender's Game.

I always assumed he was just some scientismist/atheist type (usually sci-fi authors are), or agnostic at best.

Usually Mormons are fantasy writers, because the fantasy publishing industry is dominated by them and they use it as a way to spread their propaganda.
