If elected, I promise to deputize Clotho immediately. I agree that he has a lot of valuable ideas and deserves a position of authority, but I don't think he has the constitution to be calling all the shots.

Clotho is mentally retarded. In all likelihood, he doesn't even do his own typing, and he just dictates to some assistant at his care facility. He probably can't read either and has to have the board read to him. If he were admin and there came a need for immediate action, even at his best he would be much slower than me. There's also a possibility that he wouldn't understand the situation or the appropriate response, or that he would get overstimulated and have to be tied down and sedated, leaving us in the lurch. Also suppose something big happens right after "computer time" and he doesn't even see it for a day, or who knows how long?

Finally, there is the board's image to consider. I know some of you like to make jokes about my age, but this is no joke: I don't wear diapers and Clotho probably does.

If I were admin, Clotho would still have power and influence in all the ways that count, but he wouldn't be our only hope in a crisis.
