I do not watch as much anime as I read. I did start watching the 2011 Hunter X Hunter just knowing it ends out of the blue.

The Kurosawa series is really good. I think the advantage this series has over the author's other works is that the art isn't 90% mahjong tiles and the storylines eventually conclude.

I like that being a large, blue collar worker is basically like being born a Saiyan in this series. Kurosawa can beat up so many fucking children!

I was wondering how the Akagi guy can write so many different series about mahjong but apparently in Japan there's a biweekly publication strictly for mahjong manga so I guess that sort of thing is in demand.

Now back to reading a mahjong manga that spun off another mahjong manga that spun off from a third mahjong manga.

I love Kurosawa because he's a tragic, Robert McCoy-like figure. He gets shit on 99% of the time, but those rare moments where he actually succeeds are the sweetest moments ever.

The first episode of Part 4 was great. I like how they threw in a few references to future fights like when Jotaro drives past the Superfly tower.

I watched it on Crunchyroll with a free trial but I'm sure you can find it elsewhere. Here's a version of it where someone intentionally took the shitty translation from the Part 4 version I posted and slapped it onto the episode. The left-aligned subtitles is a nice touch.

Yeah, it's probably just as good. I did Crunchyroll last year because I was off Fridays so I'd watch it just after it aired while eating tacos and drinking beer. I guess there isn't much point to that now.

Is there any other anime out there worth watching? I have a Crunchyroll trial for now so I'm watching Jojo and the new Ace Attorney anime. Last time I did this I watched all of Akagi and Kaiji (great) but not really anything else. I guess I could try doing Attack on Titan again.

I guess I'm looking for something that's rooted in the real world even if it's hyperbolic in its presentation. I don't want a bunch of shrill pink-haired schoolgirls fucking things up. Frankly, they could just omit female characters altogether because that's probably a safer bet than trying to find a modern anime not filled with grating representations of women.

Maybe I feel this way because I just started playing the new Fire Emblem.

I restarted Attack on Titan from where I left off, which was probably Episode 4. I really can't get behind any of none giant-eating stuff in this series. I do like the Gantz approach of random dickheads you think might be recurring characters being gobbled up glassy-eyed, giant, nude salarymen but dealing into the backstory of the major characters is pretty boring so far.

Attack on Titan is probably the most overrated show of this generation so that's the best attitude you can have. The best part is when they fight the female titan and I get the feeling that's the chuunin exam arc of this series and everything that follows will get steadily worse.
