I searched the board for Portlandia and literally the only occurrence is a post by me before I had ever seen it, so I'm bumping this. Portlandia is very funny and only 50% about hipsters. The other 50% is being a slightly more accessible version of Tim & Eric. Thumbs up!

Death Note: does this suck just a little bit? I keep watching it but I can't tell if I'm enjoying it or not.

I like Death Note, but it's very formulaic. Every episode is like:

Light: L is onto me, I better do this thing so he gets off my trail.

L: I anticipate that Kira is gonna do a thing, so we ought to do this other thing, which will in turn reveal his true identity.

Light: Haha! But I anticipated that you would anticipate that I was gonna do this thing, so I'm doing it in such a way that even the thing you're gonna do won't reveal my true identity.

L: But there's a twist! I anticipated that you would anticipate my anticipation, so even by doing the thing you're gonna do in the way you're gonna do it I'll still be able to reveal your true identity.

Light: *Narrowly avoids exposing his true identity through a random twist of fate*

You can reverse the roles for some episodes.

The tennis episode is the best.

Aw man, this thread bums me out. Not only did I make a spelling error I never corrected I also forgot the simple beauty of that Azusa/Hitler personal picture. Anyway, we can probably revive this thing.

I liked Portlandia. I didn't watch it on Netflix but I did notice it was on Netflix.

Broad City is definitely the best comedy on tv.

*walks by girl shitting while taking a selfie*

Also, somehow Daredevil is good.

It took me a while to buy D'onofrio as a villian, mainly because Kingpin was not going to be 8 feet tall and a million pounds, but I was pretty much over that after the car door decapitiation.

Is this just a general TV/movie review thread? I don't have anything I feel I need to express as being SUPER GREAT at this time so I'll just list things off that I have listed in PLEX as signs of tacit approval.

Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown
Better Call Saul
Black Dynamite (TV series)
Broad City
Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule
China, IL
Comedy Bang! Bang!
Community
Downton Abbey
Eagleheart
Fargo
Game of Thrones
Hannibal
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Kroll Show
Louie
Mad Men
Newsreaders
Portlandia
Rectify
Les Revenants

Oh, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is excellent. It's essentially just more 30 Rock.

Peaky Blinders is a very "british" (read: homosexual) name but it's really good.

Homosexual is not a term as a negative is but I'm conflicted between generations.
