Then again, I could have saved up a couple hundred more dollars and bought a PS4 or X-Bone so I could play all those awesome games also being released on PS3 and 360.

Child of Light isn't Wii U exclusive, you dummy. And nobody's saying the other consoles are a worthwhile value (although cross-gen games are a bad argument against them and they're still a better investment than a Wii U). It's called a PC, Spamdingbat.

Are any of you actually playing any of those games? Tropical Freeze, really? I'm not trying to be antagonistic, but come on, fuck the Wii U.

To be clear, I'd love to play Smash 4 on a console, and I'm genuinely sad that the Wii U is such complete garbage that I'd be an idiot for doing so.

Tropical Freeze is a very well loved game! It's easily the best Donkey Kong Country game even if that's only saying so much.

I don't know if a Wii U is the best investment but it has a lot of games I have spent a lot of time playing. 3D World is amazing and Mario Kart 8 is the best Mario Kart ever made. The other titles listed here are great but those two in particular are amazing. I still play Mario Kart 8 a few hours a week.

SUPER SMASH BROS FOR THE NINTENDO 3DS: This game is a divine being. I've been playing it all day and it managed to temporarily cure my carpal tunnel (Until tomorrow when my hands will be so crippled I won't even be able to hold a sheet of paper or type!)! Online isn't completely abhorrent provided you find somebody with a decent connection. I had a hot two hour session going with some dude in the For Glory one on one section and it was satisfying for both parties. Ten out of ten stars.

CHARACTER THOUGHTS:

Little Mac: Seems boring. A lot of dick bags in four player matches just sit on the edge and charge his neutral special. I would grief the fuck out of these assholes if the game didn't punish you for it.

Mega Man: The guy I was playing against bodied me hard while I was using him and while I was fighting him. I'm fine with that.

Lucina: Cooler than Marth.

Bowser Jr.: Fuck Bowser Jr., I use the Roy alternate.

Duck Hunt (lol duck cunt): Probably the weirdest character in any Smash Bros. game.

Zero Suit Samus Chan: God damn, they buffed the ever loving shit of Zee Es Es. Plus she has a win pose where she just spreads her legs for a few seconds while doing a Dead or Alive style high kick. Sorry feminism thread, you're not going to be able to salve the wounds this game will leave behind.

Demon's Souls is not a fun experience until you learn the sadistic mechanics of the game. You're basically throwing yourself at a brick wall for the first 20 hours. Dark Souls eases you in more gradually and it's far less infuriating. When you go back to Demon's Souls you'll be experienced enough to deal with the limitations it places on you.
