Stein;s Gate - I remember My Head Hurts 90 saying this was pretty great maybe two years ago. So I downloaded it (ALSO TWO YEARS AGO!) and now I can finally agree with you. It kind of drew me in the same way Breaking Bad drew me in. It's intensely boring at first and bursting with shitty characters that need to die horribly and suddenly things start snowballing out of control. These idiots just keep making horrible decisions and you can't stop watching because you want to see just how dire their situation becomes. Everybody has a pretty miserable back story too which is always something I enjoy. Kurisu was the best character.

Anime never seems to end with proper closure. How they supposed to fight a big huge battle AND tie up loose story ends with only 5 chapters left? So retarded. I hate that I ever got into this bullshit.

Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass had pretty good endings.
Gunbuster's ending is amazing, but the rest of the show was crappy. I loved the time dilation aspect though. Since time is relative, the pilots went on a mission for a couple days where they traveled at light speed, and after returning, several years had passed on Earth and everyone else had aged more than them. Why don't more sci-fi stories make use of this concept?

You're right, some shows do have a decent ending. Gunbuster's ending was a great one to bring up. I liked the entire thing though. I'm really into science and physics. Shame you didn't like it all the way though. The ending gives me goosebumps when I watch it to this day.
I recently watched Diebuster for AMV research. I didn't really care for it. But the way it ends by connecting it with Gunbuster gives me those same goosebumps. Like, seeing how they lit up the planet from the other perspective. I loved that.
