I don't feel that any of those assessments are quite right.

Well, definitely not "terrible," but "okay" doesn't seem strong enough, and "not very good" probably isn't fair.

The thing is that his sound is actually very clean, but he has some mean fiddling habits that mess with his pitch. If he wasn't so adamant on bobbing around and trying to rokkk out it'd probably sound pretty good.
